Creatrix of the Dust II Onyx: A Melanated Tarot Deck, Courtney Alexander, has been instrumental in pharaoh's personal journey through the cards. Her deck provided a language of African American pop culture and African mythology that allowed for the ancient symbolic language of tarot to be fully understood. Pharaoh has deepened their foundations through Courtney's course Tarot Through the Spiral.
Pharaoh is deeply interested in the practice of comparative mythology (B.A., Santa Clara University), and uses their knowledge of multiple spiritual systems and cultures to relate to their clients. They believe that tarot is a tool to translate the subconscious using images, art, and archetype. Pharaoh uses a multifaith and anecdotal approach, asking questions to ensure the images are understood by the reader and the recipient, so the reading becomes a visualization of what has been, and what will be for the client.
